3.7- OR 3.5-LITRE, 24-VALVE, SOHC, VTEC V-6 ENGINE
For the ultimate blend of performance and power, Acura TL models with Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) are propelled by a 3.7-litre, VTEC V-6 engine. Not only is this the most powerful Acura engine on the road right now, but it’s also one of the most advanced. But there’s also an equally adrenaline-friendly 3.5-litre, VTEC V-6 engine to consider. Both engines feature Multi-Point Programmed Fuel Injection (PGM-FI) to calculate the precise air/fuel ratio for optimum power output. And both engines are forged in aluminum for lightweight efficiency, better heat dissipation and improved durability.

EFFICIENT HORSEPOWER AND TORQUE
When it comes to horsepower and torque, the Acura TL rises to the occasion in ways that no other Acura can. From the 305 hp and 273 lb.-ft. of torque produced by the available 3.7-litre VTEC power plant, to the 280 hp and 254 lb.-ft. of torque offered by the 3.5-litre VTEC engine, there’s plenty of power to go around. With innovative VTEC engine refinement and other powerband enhancements, the broad flat-torque curve allows for virtually instant and endless acceleration. The newly standard 6-speed automatic transmission gives added performance and increased fuel efficiency, while the available 6-speed manual transmission* provides heightened control.

VTEC
The Acura TL performance-inspired Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control (VTEC) engine utilizes two entirely different camshaft profiles to offer you amazingly responsive power across the complete rpm range. Off the line, the engine provides lower valve lift and a shorter cam profile opening, resulting in higher fuel velocities and greater low-end torque. As your demand for engine speed increases, VTEC switches to a cam profile with a higher valve lift and a longer opening duration, resulting in greater airflow and a bigger boost of high-end horsepower.

SPORT SUSPENSION
The Acura TL 4-wheel independent front doublewishbone and rear multi-link suspension system offers you the kind of stability and flat cornering response you might expect. The front suspension utilizes a short upper arm for maximum grip and turning compression while a high-placed lower suspension arm delivers superb vehicle control with a stiffer steering feel. The rear suspension features a precision pillow joint for enhanced handling and stability. Further handling prowess comes from the TL’s oversized front and rear stabilizer bars for quick, flat cornering and a dose of exhilaration.

PADDLE SHIFTERS
The thrill of manual up-and-down gear-shifting performance and control at your fingertips is truly something to behold. You’ll find paddle-shifting transmission controls mounted just behind the TL’s leather-wrapped steering wheel that are designed to add an extra boost of race-inspired excitement to the already quick-shifting 6-speed automatic transmission.
